Jesse Grant
1858-1934
Born February 6, 1858 at the
family farm outside St. Louis, Missouri.
Attended Cornell University, studying engineering. He also attended
Columbia Law School.
Married Elizabeth Chapman on September 30, 1880. Two children: Nellie
Grant Cronan and Chapman Grant. The marriage ended in divorce and on August 26, 1918 he
married Lillian Burns Wilkins.
Through the early 1890s Jesse was an early developer of Tijuana, Mexico
as a gambling resort.
Ran on the Democratic ticket during the 1908 Presidential primaries.
Wrote In the Days of My Father, General Grant in 1925.
Died on June 8, 1934 and is buried in San Francisco.
